Innovative logistics: Startup byrd relies on software instead of its own logistics centres.
Founded in 2016, the company is expanding rapidly, adding a new logistics location to its network every month. By the end of the year, 10 logistics centres will be part of the byrd network, giving online retailers access to an international fulfilment platform that can keep up with e-commerce giants. The startup does not operate its own logistics sites, but relies on cooperation with experienced fulfilment partners.

Viennese logistics startup byrd raises €5 million to scale its international fulfilment platform
Vienna-based e-commerce fulfilment platform byrd has closed a €5 million Series A funding round to scale the service internationally. The investment round was led by Rider Global, a venture fund focused on logistics, e-commerce and mobility. Also participating in the round is European VC VentureFriends, with a strong entrepreneurial background in e-commerce and online marketplaces, FJ Labs, a U.S.-based early stage venture firm focused on online marketplaces, and existing investors who also participated in the round. Since its founding in 2016, byrd has received a total of more than €9 million from business angels and VCs, including Speedinvest, Reflex Capital, Hermann Hauser and KK Incube, as well as public funding.
byrd partners with Mirakl and becomes preferred fulfilment partner for Leroy Merlin in Italy
As online marketplaces are projected to account for 45% to 50% of online spending by 2025, we believe that it is incredibly important to help merchants to streamline their e-commerce operations. This is why today we’re announcing our integration with one of the leading marketplace software specialists Mirakl. The SaaS solution empowers merchants to get access to more than 350 marketplaces worldwide. Moreover, we’re proud to say that Leroy Merlin (Adeo Group) in Italy, is the first Mirakl-powered marketplace that is naming byrd as preferred fulfilment partner for their marketplace sellers.

byrd launches Seller Fulfilled Prime as the independent fulfilment alternative for Amazon sellers
The logistics scale-up raised more than €50 million in its Series C funding round just last year and is now launching an alternative logistics solution for Amazon Prime sellers. The Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) program allows merchants to sell their products on the Amazon marketplace with the "Prime badge" while outsourcing their fulfilment to independent logistics companies, thus having significantly more influence on the customer experience and not being subject to Amazon's restrictions.

E-commerce fulfilment platform byrd targets further European expansion with €16 million Series B investment
byrd, the tech-driven digital logistics and fulfilment platform, has raised a €16 million Series B funding round. The round was led by new investors Mouro Capital, an autonomously managed venture capital fund focused on fintech and adjacent businesses, joining Speedinvest, Verve Ventures, Rider Global and VentureFriends. This latest round follows on from byrd’s €5m Series A round in July 2020, bringing the total amount raised to date to €26 million.
